At an elevation of 1850m and amongst beautiful pine forests, Font Romeu is home to the French National Center for Altitude Training.
We are at the perfect elevation for adapting the body to altitude. It is high enough to exert changes on the body but not too high to cause exposure to stress. Even Mo Farah trained here before his Olympic campaign
The National Center and track It was opened in 1967 to allow athletes to prepare for the Mexico Olympic Games.
Today the town is still full of international athletes and you will see Kenyans running in the hills and biathletes roller skiing with rifles through the forest tracks during the summer. In summer and winter the buzz is tremendous. Plus because Font Romeu is strongly Catalan, the food and culture is unsurpassed.
Font Romeu is set in the Pyrenees on the French side of the France.
The Spanish border is only 10 km away. Barcelona and Toulouse only 2 hours drive.
